Introducing the new ZUMA beam construction modular seating program for interior and exterior public areas. This seating program was designed for use in hospitals, health care centers, lobbies, airport and transit terminals, waiting areas, corporate offices, sporting arenas, and shopping malls. THERE ARE SIX DIFFERENT MODELS OF MODULAR SEATING UNITS IN THIS COLLECTION.

With this modular seating system, the components, which consist of tables, armrests, and several different seat styles, are specially designed for secure attachment over the horizontal support beam. This type of design allows for unlimited combinations, and also means that the location of seats, tables, and armrests is not predetermined. It is instead left up to the discretion of the designer of the system, who has complete freedom to determine the number and distribution of the seats, tables, and armrests in a particular system. Furthermore, the mounting of all elements, including structural as well as comfort-linked components (i.e. seats) is done by means of screws and not by welding. This allows for easy assembly and disassembly, and for flexibility in configurations both now and in the future.

MODELS

The modular nature of this program allows for the following advantages

  1. Different seat models featuring low, intermediate, or high backs in either a straight or trapezium shape.
  2. Flexibility of mounting.
  3. A wide range of colors, textures, materials, and forms, allowing for growth, adaptation, or improvement.
  4. A variety of seat configurations including SINGLE SEATS, or straight row, semi-circular, circular, polygonal, or back-to-back MULTI-SEAT arrangements.
  5. The ability to use contrasting colors on the steel seat pans and polyurethane seat pads to mimic corporate colors (e.g. airline’s colors in airport terminals).
  6. The ability to mix and match colors on each of the components within the system as well as the ability to mix and match the components themselves (e.g. mixing and matching chairs with tables).
  7. The ability to use as many or as few armrests as desired. Since armrests are assembled to the seat supports, zero, one, or two armrests can be installed between seats depending on the customer’s needs.
  8. The ability of the system designer to determine the number and distribution of seats, tables, and armrests in a particular arrangement.
  9. The ability to use seats with or without the proprietary color injected polyurethane seat, back, and head cushions depending on the application.

ACCOUNT OF MATERIALS

SEAT PANS
Solid or perforated steel sheet (Standard); laminated aluminum steel sheet (Optional and Extra); beech plywood (Optional, Extra. Finished in desired shade).

BASES
Pneumatically polished aluminum castings fabricated from L-2630 (ASTM 385) aluminum alloy and cast in stabilized steel molds.

TABLES
Solid or Perforated aluminum plate (Standard); beech plywood (Optional, Extra, and Finished in desired shade): or granite (Optional and Extra). The number of tables used is up to the system designer.

ARMRESTS
Pneumatically polished injected aluminum alloy, L-2630 (ASTM 385). The number of armrests used is up to the system designer.

SEAT, BACK, AND HEADREST PADDING
Vinyl; fabric; leather; or injected polyurethane.

COATING
All metallic parts are thermo-lacquered in an epoxy-polyester line with robotic application of the powder using the electrostatic process. Prior to the electrostatic application of the powder, the parts are cleaned using a multi-step iron phosphate system. Subsequent to the electrostatic application of the powder, the parts are baked to ensure proper curing and adhesion.

ERGONOMY

All models of the ZUMA line have been duly tested using exigent biomechanical standards, resulting in seating units with a balanced comfort. On the seat, the angle variation facilitates easy knee flexion allowing adequate blood circulation. On the back, angle variation allows morphologic adjustment to the user’s back. All ZUMA public seating units comply with the recommendations issued by the “International Civil Airports Association”, and were designed for easy ingress and egress.

MAINTENANCE

ZUMA units do not require any special maintenance other than routine cleaning.
